FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How did you get started doing this type of work? 2019-08-22T20:18:49+00:00

As a 1979 Graduate of U.S. School of Professional Paperhanging, I enjoyed wallpapering until after a serious fall in Palm Springs, CA, forced a temporary retirement.

After working in an office management environment I grew restless for a more active lifestyle and developed a career in wallpaper removal. At that time, a full-time wallpaper removal business was totally unheard of. Nevertheless, I grew my business into a thriving enterprise and am pleased to be of service to my many clients.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work? 2019-08-06T14:44:09+00:00

My advice is: you get what you pay for. Contractors are NOT ‘interchangeable’.

From my experience, we provide an enviable level of service that is unmatched by many other contractors in this field. Indeed, wallpaper removal is most often an ‘occasional’ service for most contractors. We do this every day –for over 14 years.

What is your typical process of working with a new customer? 2019-08-06T14:46:33+00:00

Typically, I must visit the job location and do an estimate which includes judging the wallcovering substrate, the wall surfaces, the pastes used, the engineering set-up required (flooring types, wall heights, ladder types and placement, etc.).

What questions should your customers think through before talking to a professional about their project? 2019-08-06T18:53:16+00:00

Is your contractor bonded, licensed and insured? Visit my web site at: totallyoffthewall.com and view our typical photos and read our representative reviews. This will help you get an idea of the process of wallpaper removal as well as guide you in questions to ask of a contractor.

Pricing is by bid obtained after visiting the job location. A deposit of 50% is expected upon scheduling. Most unusually —baring emergency —we meet our scheduled dates.
